From the land of flowers...
OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
The year was 1994.
A young electrician living in Orange Park, Florida was raising a growing family and learning his craft as a professional electrician. After years of working with respected electrical contractors and teaching at a local college, David Pruette decided it was time for him to throw his hat in the ring as a business owner.
Thus was born Pruette Electric.
Gaining momentum in the marketplace by providing general electrical services proved challenging. With a small crew of apprentice and journeyman electricians the company was able to make a go of it. Then one day a chance meeting with an old friend and owner of a local pool construction company changed everything. Asked if he could wire the electrical components of a newly installed swimming pool, David replied, "Sure! Why not?"
The owner of the pool company described how difficult it had been for him, and other pool professionals, to find a qualified and reliable electrician to do the electrical work. Many electricians simply preferred to focus on the jobs that did not involve matching electrical components with large bodies of water. David, however, had grown up around water his entire life and was not daunted by the idea.
Since that day, Pruette Electric has been providing specialized electrical services for the swimming pool contractors and owners across Northeast Florida. Over the years he and his wife, Melissa, have successfully navigated the preferences of the pool owners, the timelines of the professional pool builders and the ever-changing legal requirements at the state and local levels.
